I’m reading about the shrewd manage (Luke 16:1-13).

One of the more (on a the surface) weird parables because it seems as though Jesus supports someone who seems deceitful.

But upon meditation, it’s obvious that the manager’s shrewdness is what Jesus points to; the necessity of using fleeting opportunity (this life) to lay up benefits for the future (heaven).

The world wants stuff.

Jesus Christ wants people’s hearts.

After a quick conversation with a father of a teenage daughter, I am proud to announce that I will continue to not let my children have smart phones.

Give God praise.

For His mercy & His love.

I am unworthy and have firsthand evidence of the necessity of my death & suffering.

And yet God gave His Son on the cross to die in my place - to take the punishment of my sin - so that I don’t have to experience the wrath that I deserve.

This is not a fair deal. This is an agreement that I cannot uphold my end.

Powerful.

Pilate knew Jesus was innocent but let the Jews kill Him anyway (Matt 27:24-25).

The tumult hid the truth.

Later, apostles, while teaching Christ, caused “no small stir” (Acts 19:23).

The truth revealed the tumult.

God’s wisdom is for truth to work His will (Is 55:11) and not for us to forecast events.

Be unwavering in what’s true. Be diligent to confirm truth.

And then praise God as He works things out.

Mom got an electric wheelchair.

Sucks that it admits her condition is more permanent than we would like.

It’s a blessing for her to have mobility and not fatigue. She can hold her head up and engage with people more.

Pray for others with medical conditions, mobility issues, etc.

Those of us who take health/youth for granted don’t know what we have until it’s gone.

Thankfully, this life is fleeting. The next one is eternal.

Obey the gospel so that you are in Jesus Christ and don’t have to worry about worse things than death.

There are massive advantages included in the right of association.

The religious leaders saw Peter/John’s boldness and then perceived they were “unlearned.” (Acts 4:13)

Suggests that “learning” reinforces behavior the perpetuates itself.

It’s not that Peter/John had never been taught - as they followed & learned from Jesus - but that Peter/John’s education rejected the foundation of knowledge believed by the religious leaders bc Christ taught truth, which, to the religious leaders, seemed as error.

“Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things…”

“MUST receive” - heaven is obligated to Jesus Christ.

“…which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”

God’s message has never changed. Jesus Christ perfectly fulfilled and showed it. If I doubt Jesus Christ, then I doubt the One Who God has been speaking of since the beginning.

There is going to be such a massive right-wing blowback by the rising generations of young men bc every race seemed to be elevated at the expense of the white race, while the white race was told to be quiet and let it happen (called multiculturalism).

And, as is human nature, after imposing an adverse will upon a group for a length of time, that oppressed group will either be destroyed or fight back.

The race wars are stoked (here in the US too) as a tool of racial division, and my concern is that the white man’s pushback will be particularly vindictive given the one-sidedness of the last generation. Western society turned on the white man by telling him to shut up and let others advance because of passed sins, and while it worked for a time, the young white men today are very race conscious, angry, and blame their elders for failing them - which means they will reject & oppose current frameworks & narratives as they find & seek different ones to give themselves a mental model for understanding the world.

This is why Christians use the Bible. We point people to Jesus Christ and obey the gospel bc these tribal plays are emotional & powerful.

Do not take the bait. Be sober. Pray. Build.

Five summers ago Eddie and I started learning about Live Local. Summer of 2020 we put out our first garden. We are so thankful! This is today’s harvest. We have had lots of cucumbers, green beans, squash, zucchini, lettuce and onions. A ton of banana peppers. (More habanero’s coming for that great jam!)

Cantaloupe are small and so sweet. I cut up 6 of them today. Chilling in the fridge for snacking! God is so good!

Grand juries are not limited to single items or particular subject matter. They may receive all nature of complaints & allegations bc the grand jury, by its nature, is the buffer between people and government.

Taking pride in our pain is not putting pride in Christ’s.

The war on attention spans is subtle & devilish.

I believe the stoked racial tensions are a purposeful campaign to divide people as attention on Epstein & demand for government accountability peaks.

If people ever start to unify around a righteous idea, it is an easy play to divide them based on superficial stuff like race, gender, politics, etc.

That’s gay.

Christ is King.

I repent from politics and the pride of pandering to others to win their approval.

It’s clear that wisdom is the main object and that begins with fear of God.

Much of this world’s ways are programmed into our thinking and according to narratives. Our view of history. Our understanding of government.

So much of what I was taught is not so.

And so when truth is heard, do I harden my heart or do I submit?

In my view, I see God stirring a righteous indignation in people against corruption in government and He’s using the issue of child trafficking to cause that anger. And while I believe most agree that it’s wrong, I still see many do not change their thinking - believing that the complaining posture of politics is what will change things.

Meanwhile, technologies are making things different, which magnifies the necessity of wisdom gained from a disciplined approach and pursuit of God’s word.

Lord willing, my thinking will continue to be refined as He wills. I want remedy. I want justice. I want the gospel preached to a world of unsaved souls.

Jesus Christ is King. His priority is salvation from sin, and His wisdom is so good that it can draw anyone in any realm/topic. So that His children are not restricted in how they present the gospel - as long as they faithfully teach what the Bible says.

This means all things, when obedient to Christ, can be used to glorify Him.

And by God’s grace, I believe now is a season where justice and law are powerful hooks for the gospel.

Older generations did struggle.

They did not struggle with $2200 rent and $7 for a dozen eggs. They did not struggle with six figure college debt and no job security.

They did not struggle with mass migration, more than half marriages ending in divorce, rampant degeneracy, nor the administrative state.

A chain-breaking blessing is for older generations to acknowledge the changed landscape, learn the law, and protect their wealth as they pass it to younger generations.

God is using this to break politics.

Lord willing, people repent from the idol of worshipping government and learn the law.
