The collusion between China and Pakistan has grown more dangerous for India because these two ‘all-weather’ partners are moving beyond supply of military equipment to research and development, intelligence sharing and real time coordination during combat, as was seen during Operation Sindoor. Countering this two-front threat will require India to also form coalitions, says Srishti Negi of Jesus and Mary College (JMC), Delhi University. Watch the full episode of this TV show, featuring 28 young Indian students, as they analyse National Security challenges.

🇮🇳🇬🇧💎 INDIA'S STOLEN HERITAGE IN BRITISH MUSEUMS

For over two centuries, Britain systematically stripped India of its heritage—diamonds, idols, manuscripts, and priceless artifacts.

🤢 Today, thousands of these treasures remain locked away in UK museums, displayed as if they were spoils of honor.

The British Museum alone houses more than 50,000 Indian artifacts, none willingly given.

Here are the highlights:👇

◾️Kohinoor Diamond: Mined in India, passed through Mughal and Sikh rulers, seized after the annexation of Punjab in 1849 and forced onto Queen Victoria as “tribute.”

😔 Despite repeated requests from India, it remains in the British Crown Jewels at the Tower of London, with the UK claiming its ownership is “non-negotiable.”

◾️Sultanganj Buddha: A 1,500-year-old, 500kg bronze statue unearthed during British railway construction in Bihar (1861) and shipped to England. It has sat in Birmingham ever since.

Instead of being placed in an Indian monastery or museum, it ended up in Birmingham.

◾️Amaravati Marbles: Dating back 2,000 years, these Buddhist sculptures once adorned a great stupa in Andhra Pradesh, depicting the life and teachings of Buddha. Between 1797 and the 1840s, colonial officers dismantled and shipped dozens of carved panels to London, where they remain.

◾️Tipu Sultan’s Tiger: This 16th-century bronze idol of the Tamil saint-poet Tirumangai Alvar was stolen from the Soundararaja Perumal Temple in Tamil Nadu in the 1970s.

😱 It surfaced decades later in the Ashmolean Museum. Though the museum has agreed to return it, the process has been painfully slow, with the UK government delaying the handover.

◾️Mahatma Gandhi’s Relics: After Gandhi’s assassination in 1948, many of his personal items—his iconic round glasses, sandals, and handwritten letters—vanished from India.

💰 Over the years, they have appeared in private auctions in the UK and US, sold to the highest bidder instead of being preserved as national heritage.
