I think the malice did its job from 1945 to 2010 - that is to say, the British state was run maliciously during that period. It still lingers but what we are also seeing, just as pronounced, is the incompetence and hubris that resulted from it. The best minds saw that the British state was not governed efficiently or productively, so they went elsewhere. This left the field open for lesser people to take those jobs. This process would have repeated with every generation, always worsening the situation, so that now we really are governed by idiots.

There's a meme going round: "Nothing ever happens."

The premise is that we're all primed for sudden world-changing events that never actually happen. The truth is: Big things do happen, but slowly enough not to jolt us, mostly.

In 2019 I'd speak to a friend about deep, grand topics, and I remember saying to him: "We're going to have to become the new Amish," meaning that those of us who wished to preserve a traditional, natural way of life were going to have to start being really strict and prohibitive about what we expose ourselves and our children to.

Little did I know what was about to happen the following year.

In 2020, when the 'Coronavirus' psyop arrived, myself and the same friend saw the writing on the wall. We started putting together a manifesto for a movement called 'The Green Men'; the concept was to build an Operation Werewolf style cult, but instead of being centred around masculinity, it was to promote the ideals of natural, organic living - No vax, less exposure to digital tech, no digital IDs, a focus on natural remedies, folk art, physical resilience and self-sufficient communities. I've not mentioned this before, because we didn't manage to fully realise it.

But back when we were hatching these plans, AI wasn't a thing yet (for the public). We actually underestimated just how much was going to happen over the next few years. So much for "nothing ever happens." The world you were supposed to inherit doesn't exist anymore*, and it pretty much died within the last 5.5 years (yes, it had health complaints for decades prior, but it seemed like it could pull through).

The point of this post is: The old rules no longer apply, so stop playing along with them like a sucker. My Dutch grandfather had the same employer his entire life, and retired fairly young with an extremely generous pension as reward. Boomers still behave like that kind of thing is still attainable if you just work hard enough; it isn't! They just don't know it yet because most of them are retired with a 3-4 bed semi (mortgage paid), a couple of annual vacations and maybe a second home for holiday or rental. I know Millennial entrepreneurs who were successful prior to 2020 who are now scratching their head wondering why the same business methods don't result in success anymore.

I say: Stop with the pretence. Stop deluding yourself. You've been working that same dull job for years, hoping that, one day, your suffering will pay off and you'll be rewarded the same way your Boomer parents or grandparents were. You won't be. "Suffering without meaning is almost unbearable." Working a shitty job just to stay afloat, to pay taxes, to afford the personal debt you undertook to live beyond your material means - it's not going to "pay off one day." At the very least, prepare your children not to fall into the same trap.

Capitalism now consists of abusers and the abused - nothing else. Even if you're morally comfortable with being an abuser, unlike decades past that role is shut off to 99% of you, oversaturated by state institutions, courts, mega-corporations and soulless Boomers.

So what to do? Make up your own rules and aspirations. Play your own game and ignore the gatekeepers who say "you can't do that." Who says you need to buy a pre-built suburban box for £400,000? Who says you need vacations to be happy? Who says taxes are a moral obligation? Who says you can't emigrate to somewhere where an acre costs £1000? Who says you can't live a happy, nomadic life? Who says you can't form a new community with the 10 people you trust? Who says you need a 'career' rather than a handful of skills which you can gig with sporadically?
