Okay, I see what some of you did when answering this question.
I think you just looked at the equation saw 2HCl to 1H₂ and then you multiplied 2 by 24 to get 48 dm³.
That is wrong. Actually, you need to use the GF method (Give > Find).You are already given the concentration and volume of HCl so first calculate the number of moles using the formula . After finding the moles of HCl then you use the mole ratio from the equation to determine the moles of H₂. Then calculate its volume.

Definition for Heat of Reaction:
The heat energy absorbed or released when the number of moles of reactant, as shown in the chemical equation, react to form the products.

There are four types of heat of reaction:
1. Precipitation
2. Displacement
3. Neutralisation
4. Combustion

Definition for Heat of Precipitation:
The heat change when 1 mole of precipitate is formed from their ions in an aqueous solution.

Definition for Heat of Displacement:
The heat change when 1 mole of a metal is displaced from its salt solution by a more electropositive metal.

Definition for Heat of Neutralisation:
The heat change when 1 mole of water is formed from the reaction between an acid and an alkali.

Definition for Heat of Combustion:
The heat released when 1 mole of a substance is completely burnt in excess oxygen.
