7/ And the pièce de résistance – his horror that we’ve been engaging with the Covid Inquiry. Multiple times.

6/ Even our Mother’s Day email got the treatment.

Apparently it’s a “remarkable articulation” of a strategy to “manufacture consent” and “manipulate media attention” by… appealing to emotions and caring about kids’ futures. Who knew?!

5/ He also listened to Claire Deeks on the radio and, no doubt perched on the edge of his seat with a dictaphone, ready to make… another table.

Highlight: “Community Resilience Networks” – gardening groups and CB radios – framed as a sinister infiltration tactic.

4/ Then comes the Impact Assessment.

Apparently, we’re a “critical” threat to Institutional Trust and Evidence-Based Governance, “severe” on Social Cohesion, and only “moderate–severe” on Electoral Integrity.

Who gets to decide who’s an expert?

Last month at the Covid Inquiry’s public hearings, Jacinta O’Reilly from FACT Aotearoa came across as more than a few sammies short of a picnic...

Her testimony struck many as vague, confused and openly proud of reporting everyday Kiwis to professional bodies for daring to question the official line. It felt dangerously close to modern-day Stasi snitching.

So we’ve got to ask:
👉 What makes someone an expert – and who hands out the badge?

👉Can you just self-identify as an expert? (Apparently that’s all the rage these days…)

👉How does a self-appointed “expert” end up speaking before a Royal Commission?

👉If “disinformation” simply meant any view that contradicted the government narrative, why were those claims accepted without question?

At VFF we never pretended to be the experts. We invited people with decades of real-world experience and published research to share their knowledge. Yet anyone who challenged the narrative was quickly dismissed, sidelined or worse. That price was paid by brave professionals standing up for evidence and free speech.

If expertise matters, why are some voices elevated and others silenced?
