✅ THE TRUTH: Data from insurance incentive structures and an analysis of a pediatric practice’s income show that high vaccination rates are key to a profitable practice.

Ryan Champlin, who coordinates vaccine purchasing contracts for doctors at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Texas, told The Defender that incentives for vaccination are typically linked to the
@ CDCgov childhood immunization schedule.

Champlin said doctors get the extra payments when a certain percentage of their patients — typically 80% or more — take all of the vaccines on the schedule.

According to @ lifebiomedguru, incentivizing doctors to vaccinate every child doesn’t take the individual medical needs of each patient into account and creates an “unnecessary tension” between provider and patient.

It is increasingly common today for pediatricians to drop families who don’t want their children to take some or all of the recommended vaccines.

Until 2016, the AAP recommended against pediatricians refusing to treat children whose parents didn’t want them immunized. However, that year, the AAP changed its policy, stating instead that dismissing such families is “an acceptable option.”

📣 IMPORTANT: Lawsuit Targets RFK Jr. for Failing to Set Up Task Force on Childhood Vaccine Safety

Attorney Ray Flores is suing U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for failing to establish a task force dedicated to making childhood vaccines safer, as mandated by federal law.

The lawsuit alleges Kennedy is violating the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which requires the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to promote the development of safer childhood vaccines that cause “fewer and less serious adverse reactions” than existing ones.

The act requires HHS to establish a task force that includes the health secretary, the commissioner of the FDA, the directors of the NIH and the CDC.

It also requires the health secretary to provide Congress with progress reports every two years.

Since the U.S. Congress passed the act over 35 years ago, no health secretary — including Kennedy — has reported to Congress on steps taken toward making vaccines safer.

Flores said in the complaint that because more than 100 days have passed since the Trump administration took office, “any grace period for Mr. Kennedy to rectify the failure of his predecessors has ended.”

Mary Holland, CEO of Children’s Health Defense — which is funding the lawsuit — said it is “blackletter law that the HHS secretary must convene a task force on how to make vaccines safer.”
