General Staff: Ukrainian defense forces succeed in several areas

From August 4 to 16, as a result of joint actions of uni of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine, which are part of the 1st Corps of the National Guard Azov, the following settlements were cleared in the Donetsk region: Gruzske, Rubizhne, Novovodyan, Petrivka, Vesele, Zolotiy Kolodyaz.

In general, as a result of active actions in the operational zone of the corps, the enemy suffered significant losses in manpower. According to data as of August 16, they are:

- medical – 335 people,
- prisoners – 37 people.

The enemy lost a significant amount of equipment and weapons. During the specified period, 8 tanks of the russian occupiers, 6 armored combat vehicles, 103 units of automobiles and motorcycles, one MLRS, 18 guns and 91 UAVs of various types were destroyed and damaged.

The attempt to "probe" the defense line of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the area of ​​the city of Dobropillya for further development into full-fledged assault operations was successful and surprised even the enemy, who was counting on a quick "rollback". Immediately after the news of the "breakthrough", information was received that this area is a "gray zone" where there is no defense and infantry, but in reality the situation looks a little different:

At the beginning of the month, approximately August 7-9, the enemy had already advanced towards the village of Bilytske, but encountered difficulties due to the arrival of additional Ukrainian units in the direction. By that time, the transfer of units of the 1st Corps of the National Guard Azov was already publicly known, and the rapid reaction of the press service indicates that the Corps units were gradually transferred during August 1-11. The enemy, taking advantage of the rotation of units (probably) of the 38th Marine Brigade and the Corps, tried to attack the junctions of the sectors of responsibility of the Marine units in the area of the village of Boykivka (from open sources).
