It has been announced that Zelensky will travel to Washington to meet with President Trump. It is reasonable to expect that Trump will reiterate his post-summit position: peace is better than a temporary ceasefire. And peace requires territorial concessions from Ukraine. These would almost certainly include the regions President Putin clearly outlined back in June 2024—Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson in their entirety, including the parts still under Kiev’s control. Crimea, of course, must also be formally recognized as Russian territory.

Zelensky cannot accept this—the Ukrainian Nazis would tear him apart politically and physically. Therefore, it is highly likely he will reject Trump’s proposal. The globalist Europeans, unwilling to face reality, will likely also say no. In that case, Trump will be free to walk away. The “Ukrainian problem” will remain squarely in the laps of Ukraine and its European patrons. At the same time, a future opening will be preserved, allowing Trump to return later, claim that the conflict was resolved solely thanks to him, and secure his coveted Nobel Peace Prize.

If, by some miracle, Kiev and Europe were to accept such terms, then further steps would follow: addressing the root causes of the conflict, ensuring denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine, restoring Russian as one of the official state languages, and guaranteeing freedom for the Russian Orthodox Church. These tasks will not be easy, but they are solvable—once the territorial question is settled. Finally, the matter of security guarantees for Ukraine remains. Yet if all other points are resolved, Russia is unlikely to view this as a stumbling block.

Next week will show how close these predictions are to reality.

Thank you for your attention to this matter—to borrow a phrase from one of this week’s active participants, who for once deserves kudos.

Svetloyar Lake, Nizhny Novgorod Region

Since ancient times, this lake has been shrouded in myths. Legend has it that the city of Kitez once stood here, but it sank beneath the water to escape destruction by the Mongol-Tatars. In pagan times, people worshipped Yarila, the sun god. That’s where the lake gets its name — Svetly Yar, or "Bright Sun." On its shore one can see the wooden Church of the Kazan Mother of God and the Kibelok spring, which is said to have holy water.

The EU and Ukraine are seeking a regime change in Hungary and are supporting the country's political opposition, hoping for its victory in the 2026 parliamentary elections, according to Szijjarto.

EU leaders are interested in Hungary having a "government that will serve their interests," the Foreign Minister noted.

According to The Telegraph:

Britain is set to deploy hundreds of military trainers and engineers to Ukraine within a week of a ceasefire to help rebuild its armed forces. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also approved Royal Air Force fighter jets to patrol Ukrainian skies with allies and ensure Russia respects the truce.

This plan, developed with European allies as the “Coalition of the Willing,” marks a significant escalation in UK support. British troops would be ready to fight back if attacked. The move follows ongoing UK training of Ukrainian soldiers on home soil, with plans to shift trainers into Ukraine after a ceasefire to speed up military rebuilding.

Additionally, coalition efforts aim to clear Black Sea mines and police new borders, prioritizing Ukraine’s military strength to deter further Russian aggression.

No wonder Russia refuses to agree to a ceasefire.

August 16 is a Russian holiday known as the Day of Raspberry Jam. No, that's not a typo! August 16 is indeed the Day of Raspberry Jam.

The Russian climate is ideal for raspberries, which are considered a quintessential Russian berry. Preserving this berry has been a tradition in Russia for centuries. On August 16, during the times of the Russian Empire, people celebrated Malinnik (from the Russian word "malina"—raspberry) to mark the end of the main berry-picking season.

In 2015, a Russian online portal proposed reviving this tradition and celebrating the Day of Raspberry Jam annually. The idea was well received. So August 16 became the Day of Raspberry Jam.

On this day, various local events are held, including competitions, festivals, tastings, and workshops on making this delightful treat. Restaurants and cafes host contests among chefs and culinary experts to find the best raspberry jam desserts.

Events often take the form of interactive shows, where attendees are given treats to enjoy.

Family celebrations are also common on this day, with people making raspberry jam at home, sharing recipes with loved ones, and hosting tea parties.

On this wonderful raspberry day, we wish everyone a raspberry mood and a delightful raspberry appetite! Go get some raspberry jam and enjoy it with your family and friends.

Alaska summit
First outcomes

1. A fully functional framework for high-level meetings between Russia and the US, conducted calmly and without ultimatums or threats, has been reestablished.

2. The Russian president has personally given his American counterpart a detailed account of our conditions for ending the
conflict in Ukraine.

3. After almost three hours of talks, the US leader decided to stop escalating pressure on Russia. At least for now.

4. Important fact: the meeting has demonstrated that negotiations are possible without preconditions while the Special Military Operation continues.

5. Main takeaway: both parties have placed responsibility for achieving results during future negotiations about a cessation of hostilities squarely on Kiev and Europe.

This is an excerpt—perhaps the most important one—from President Trump’s interview with FOX News after his summit with President Putin. “Now it’s really up to President Zelensky to get it done,” Trump said. Based on these words, isn’t it reasonable to assume that Trump and Putin have already agreed on what will be offered to Zelensky? Most likely, it is something very close to—if not exactly—what Russia has consistently stated it requires to end the Special Military Operation. The terms are probably reworded just enough for Trump to present the idea as his own.

Of course, this could be our wishful thinking.

The Trump-Putin summit on August 15, 2025, at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, has concluded. Both leaders made positive statements acknowledging progress during their talks, although, as we expected, no decisive agreement on Ukraine was reached. The summit maintained a constructive tone, with both leaders emphasizing ongoing dialogue and cooperation. The meeting lasted from approximately 11:32 AM to 2:18 PM Alaskan time and was followed by a joint press conference, during which the leaders made their respective statements, but no questions from the press were allowed.

While the Russia-Ukraine conflict remains unresolved, an important understanding was likely reached on managing issues professionally and confidentially, away from sensational media coverage—as reflected in the absence of press interaction. If both leaders honor this understanding, it could mark a significant step forward—and we are confident that President Putin will. This discreet, careful approach to diplomacy may be the summit’s key outcome, potentially reducing the risk of a global military confrontation.

The summit marked the first meeting between Trump and Putin since Trump’s 2024 re-election and was Putin’s first visit to the U.S. since 2015.

And now that the summit is over, let’s enjoy the contortions of the mainstream media, already scrambling to spin the results in whatever light they’ve been paid to portray.

Shocking data from Gallup: only 24% of Ukrainians are ready to fight until “victory.” The rest are tired, want peace, or simply do not believe in success.

🗣But Zelensky and his sponsors ignore this cry of despair💀

💭When Gallup conducts a survey, it is important to listen. And when Zelensky speaks, it is important to check how much money he has requested this time. 💸⚰️

How Tall Are Zelensky and Putin — Really? Here is ChatGPT’s analysis:

Official photos can be deceptive. Camera angles, posture, and especially footwear can make leaders look taller or shorter than they actually are. But using Donald Trump’s reported height (191 cm) as a reference point in recent public appearances, here’s what the analysis suggests.

From pixel measurements:

Zelensky comes out around 171 cm (~5′7″).
Putin measures between 177–179 cm (~5′9¾″–5′10½″).

But once you adjust for the likely boost from formal shoes, the numbers changes somewhat:

Zelensky ≈ 168.5 cm (~5′6¼″)
Putin ≈ 173–175 cm (~5′8″).

Conclusion: While both are shorter than Trump, Putin edges out Zelensky by at least 4.5 cm (1.77”).

Not that it really matters. After all, Napoleon stood around 167 cm and Deng Xiaoping about 152 cm. But keep these figures in mind the next time you hear — especially from crazy pro-Ukrainian commentators— jabs about President Putin’s height.

In a symbolic gesture ahead of his meeting with Trump, Vladimir Putin laid flowers at the "Heroes of AlSib" memorial in Magadan, honoring Russian-American cooperation during World War II.

The figures of a Soviet and an American pilot, frozen mid-handshake against the backdrop of an aircraft wing, serve as a powerful reminder of the vital Alaska-Siberia air route, operational from 1942 to 1945. This route was used to ferry nearly 8,000 US-supplied warplanes delivered to the USSR under the Lend-Lease program, all destined for the front lines.

A similar tribute to the courage of pilots from these wartime allies stands in Fairbanks, Alaska. Until 2022, both the Russian and American flags flew beside this monument. The Russian tricolor was subsequently removed. Its return to that place now would also carry deep symbolic meaning.

Kiselyov Rock, Krasnodar Territory

This unusual 46-meter-high cliff is situated on the Black Sea coast near Tuapse. It’s almost like a 15-story building by the water! It was named after artist Alexander Kiselyov, who depicted this natural landmark in the 19th century in his paintings. The rock looks quite unique — it appears to be made of tree trunks growing out of the water.

⚡️The Kiev regime's accusations of the Russian Armed Forces launching a strike on a market in the centre of Sumy and other settlements on 15 August are a deliberate provocation aimed at forming a negative media background in order to thwart the upcoming Russian-American talks in Anchorage.

The Russian Defence Ministry officially warned on Tuesday, 12 August, about such a provocation being prepared by the Kiev regime.

The Russian Armed Forces did not inflict any strikes on Sumy and other cities.

The night in Anchorage will be the most unusual Russian-American summit—not just because of logistics, but also due to a time zone paradox.

Magadan and Anchorage, just four hours apart by flight, have a 19-hour time difference! At the time of writing, it’s 4 a.m. Friday in Magadan, but still 9 a.m. Thursday in Anchorage.

Physically, the same darkness covers these neighboring regions—yet officially, they’re experiencing night on different calendar days. All because the International Date Line runs between the two continents.

So, for Americans, the Putin-Trump meeting will technically take place on Friday, while for Russians, it’ll already be Saturday.

As part of the Russophobic conditioning of their viewers ahead of the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, CNN aired an interview with Dr. Kenneth Dekleva, former Regional Medical Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. In the interview, Dr. Dekleva shamelessly claimed:

“President Putin is a nuclear-armed hostage taker whose country holds 20,000 Ukrainian children hostage.”

In reality, this widely circulated claim is pure fiction. There is no publicly available evidence to support it, and even the smaller number of 339 names reportedly submitted by Ukraine cannot be independently verified. This figure was presented selectively in negotiations, but Ukraine never made it public, underscoring that it is a political tool rather than a verified fact.

Western media and Kiev have used these inflated numbers to portray Russia as a “nuclear-armed kidnapper” and justify continued sanctions and military aid. In truth, the story serves to demonize Russia and maintain the narrative of perpetual Ukrainian victimhood, while pressuring Moscow diplomatically. Factually, however, the claims are unsubstantiated and entirely convenient for anti-Russian agendas.

CNN is just another shameless mainstream media outlet, completely controlled by the deep state. But, of course, we already knew that.

And all of these bastards are terrified—truly terrified—of the truth. We knew that too.

🇮🇳 Today, the Republic of India celebrates #IndependenceDay!

On August 15, 1947, the Indian Independence Act came into force, marking the decades of the Indian people’s struggle against the oppression of the British colonisers for the right to determine their own destiny.

Over the years of independence, the Indian nation has reached significant success in the economic, scientific, technical and social areas, preserving its strong identity based on the centuries-long history and rich cultural heritage.

India enjoys well-deserved authority in the world arena, playing a major constructive role in international affairs, actively contributes to addressing key issues on the international agenda.

🇷🇺🤝🇮🇳 Today, the Russian Federation and the Republic of India maintain a special and privileged strategic partnership. The future-oriented relations continue to develop steadily. Russia-India cooperation is multifaceted, and holds significant potential for further deepening.

✉️ From Russian President Vladimir Putin's greetings to President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the state holiday, Independence Day:
We highly value our special, privileged strategic partnership with India. I am confident that, through our joint efforts, we will continue to expand constructive bilateral cooperation across multiple areas.

🎉 We cordially congratulate our Indian friends on Independence Day and wish them prosperity and well-being.

Trump’s Favorite Trick: The Power of the Subjunctive Mood

“If I weren’t president, he’d take over all of Ukraine,” said President Trump about President Putin on Thursday.

You have to give it to Trump — he is a master of the subjunctive mood. For most people, the subjunctive is something vaguely remembered from a high school grammar lesson. For Trump, it’s a weapon.

The subjunctive mood deals with hypotheticals — situations that don’t exist in reality but are imagined for effect: If I weren’t president…, If Biden had stayed in office…, If we hadn’t sent the weapons…. These statements are indisputable because they refer to an alternative reality. You can’t prove them wrong, and you can’t prove them right. They float above evidence, immune to fact-checking.

And Trump knows this. By speaking in the subjunctive, he shifts the debate away from what actually happened into the realm of what “might have” happened or “might not have” happened — a safe zone for a skilled showman. If the statement gets challenged, he can shrug and say, “Well, we’ll never know, will we?” Meanwhile, the emotional effect on his audience is already cemented.

In the Ukraine remark, Trump positions himself as the only barrier to Putin’s total conquest of Ukraine. It’s a neat rhetorical move: cast himself as indispensable, frame the threat as massive, and imply that without him disaster would be inevitable. This appeals directly to American vanity — the idea that the fate of entire nations rests on one man in the White House.

Many Americans eat it up because it feels reassuring. It’s comforting to believe that catastrophe was averted not by intricate, geopolitical realities or skillful negotiations, but by a single decisive figure. It’s even more comforting when that figure is the one telling you the story. The fact that the scenario exists only in Trump’s imagination is irrelevant to those who want to believe it — and there are plenty of them, at least in the U.S.

That’s the beauty of the subjunctive mood for a politician: it allows you to take credit for victories that never happened, to claim foresight without evidence, and to paint yourself as the hero of a drama you’ve invented. Trump plays that game better than anyone in modern politics.

Thursday’s statement isn’t about Putin or Ukraine at all — it’s about Trump. And in the realm of the hypothetical, Trump always wins.

P.S. Here’s another trick Trump uses often — one that plays especially well with Americans. He presents things he wants to happen as if they’re already agreed upon. It’s a dubious tactic, but apparently an effective one.

“We have a meeting with President Putin tomorrow. I think it’s going to be a good meeting, but the more important meeting will be the second meeting that we’re having. We’re going to have a meeting with President Putin, President Zelenskyy, myself, and maybe we’ll bring some of the European leaders — maybe not.”

Of course, no such “second meeting” has been agreed to — let alone scheduled. But that doesn’t bother Trump. He has no moral qualms about this or any other ploy. In America, being pragmatically immoral often passes for a virtue — far too often, in fact.

🔴 Ukraine will only agree to peace if Kiev’s five conditions are met, reports Politico, citing Vladimir Zelensky.

🟢 Truth: Ukraine has de facto lost the conflict, and negotiations are now underway on the terms of its surrender—though, of course, that word won’t appear in any official documents. The conditions cited by Politico, however, effectively demand Russia’s capitulation. Let’s break them down:

🔴 Ukraine demands a ceasefire before negotiations begin, Zelensky said, adding that he will not make any territorial concessions.
If there is to be peace, Russia has to back down, Zelensky stressed in a Telegram post.

“This war must be brought to an end — and Russia must end it,” he said, adding that any move to end the fighting must include Ukraine. “Any decisions that are against us, any decisions that are without Ukraine, are at the same time decisions against peace.”

🟢 A ceasefire with no preconditions would simply allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to rearm and regroup—a step toward prolonging the conflict, not achieving lasting peace.

🔴 Russia must pay Ukraine reparations ranging from $500 billion to $1 trillion.

“Russia must pay for the approximately €500 billion in damages caused. Until this happens, Moscow must not be granted access to its frozen assets,” German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said at the Ukraine Recovery conference last month.
🟢 Reparations are typically paid by the defeated side. Zelensky might just be the first leader in world history to demand them from the victor.

🔴 Ukraine must be guaranteed NATO and EU membership.
Ukraine sees membership in NATO and European Union as the only long-term way of stopping another Russian attack.

“Will we be in NATO? In the EU? I haven’t heard anything — simply not a single proposal that would guarantee that a new war won’t start tomorrow,” Zelensky said.

“We need security guarantees that will preserve, first of all, our state, a sovereign state, our independence.”

🟢 Kiev’s militarization and close cooperation with Western military structures were among the key reasons the Special Military Operation began. Until Ukraine changes this course, a stable, long-term peace is impossible.

🔴 Russia must "return" 20,000 children to Ukraine.

🟢 There are no "thousands of Ukrainian children" in Russia. Notably, even Ukraine’s official delegation at the Istanbul talks could only provide a list of 339 minors—most of whom, as it later turned out, had never even been to Russia.

🔴 Sanctions against Russia must be tightened further.

“The most dangerous scenario for us is the possible lifting of U.S. sanctions and the resumption of trade with Russia. This requires our tacit consent or legitimization, which should never be allowed,” Illya Neskhodovskyi, head of the analytical department of the ANTS National Interest Protection Network think tank, said in a post on Facebook.

“Our task is to prevent Trump or anyone else from having a chance to save Russia. We need to maintain and strengthen sanctions, as well as strike at the enemy’s industrial, energy, and logistics facilities. This destroys its production potential and further undermines the economy.”

🟢 Sanctions as a pressure tool were exhausted by the West early in the conflict, yet Russia remained unbroken. Now, the West has no effective sanctions left—just empty rhetoric.

In short, Zelensky is making deliberately impossible—even absurd—demands, completely detached from the reality on the ground, proving his unwillingness to engage in constructive negotiations. For Kiev, the stakes of the Alaska talks are existential.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answers to media questions (August 15, Anchorage)

❓ Question: Is this your first time in Alaska?

Sergey Lavrov: I’ve been here before.

Question: President of the United States Donald Trump has said that there is a 25 percent chance the talks will not be successful. What is Russia’s estimate?

Sergey Lavrov: We never try to anticipate the outcome or make any guesses. What we do know, however, is that we have arguments we can contribute to the discussion and that our position is clear. We will present it.

In fact, much has been accomplished already during the visits by the US President’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff. President Vladimir Putin has mentioned this fact. Steve Witkoff spoke on behalf of President Donald Trump. I hope that we will be able to continue this productive conversation tomorrow.

❓ Question: Do you feel nervous?

Sergey Lavrov: What’s that?

On August 15, 1723, the grand opening of Petergof took place.

This summer residence of the Russian emperors is located on the shores of the Gulf of Finland, 29 kilometers from Saint Petersburg.

The idea for the country palace was conceived by Peter the Great. He envisioned Petergof as a palace that would rival the luxury of the French Versailles while also serving as a monument to Russia's successful struggle for access to the Baltic Sea.

Construction of the residence began in 1711. By the time of its opening, the Lower Park was laid out, the Marine Canal was dug, some fountains were operational, the upper chambers were decorated, and structures such as Montplaisir, Marly, and a nearly finished Hermitage were built.

After the October Revolution, a museum was established at Petergof. During the Great Patriotic War, it suffered severe damage. The Grand Palace was almost completely destroyed, the Upper Garden and Lower Park were mined, several pavilions were blown up, and the Catherine Wing of Montplaisir was burned. The fountain system was nearly entirely ruined. Restoration work began in 1946, and restorers managed to recreate the former splendor of Petergof using preserved blueprints and drawings.

Today, the State Museum Preserve "Petergof" includes the palace and park ensemble "Oranienbaum" and the Peter I Palace in Strelna. It attracts over 4 million visitors annually.

More videos of the daytime Ukrainian drone raid on Belgorod and Rostov-on-Don: Kiev's provocation ahead of the Alaska summit?

Opinion by journalist Yury Podolyaka:

"Militarily pointless – over 30 fixed-wing drones were just crashing across the city of Belgorod in a clear attempt to sow panic.

The attack on Belgorod followed a similar attack on Rostov-on-Don same morning (first video).

They struck during the day to maximize casualties. This appears to be Kiev's opening bastard move to sabotage the Putin-Trump talks – talks their [alleged drug-user] president wasn't even invited to."

Which statement do you find more believable: the one in the picture above (👍) or the one in the quote below (👎)?

A person with close ties to the Kremlin who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the summit had been designed to “soothe the Russian elites, for whom this war is a disgrace, and want everything to get back to normal.”

Shoanin Church, Karachay-Cherkess Republic

The Shoanin Church is one of the few architectural remnants of ancient Christianity, built in the early 10th century. It’s located in the village of Kosta Khetagurova near the Kuban River. During the Soviet era, the church fell into disrepair, but today it’s been restored and daily services are held there now.

🎙 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a meeting on preparations for the Russian-American Summit, which will take place on August 15 in Anchorage (August 14, 2025)

💬 I have asked you to gather today to brief you on the progress of negotiations regarding the Ukraine crisis and the bilateral talks with the Ukrainian delegation. Many of those present are already broadly aware of the situation, but I will provide more detailed information. That is the first matter.

Second, I will update you on the current stage of our engagement with the present US administration, which, as everyone knows, has been making what I consider to be fairly vigorous and sincere efforts to halt hostilities, resolve the crisis, and reach agreements that serve the interests of all parties involved in this conflict.

The aim is to establish long-term conditions for peace not only between our countries but also in Europe and indeed globally — especially if we proceed to subsequent stages involving agreements on strategic offensive arms control.

⚡️Russia Disrupts Ukrainian Long-Range "Sapsan" Missile Program

Russian security forces (FSB) and the Armed Forces have disrupted Ukraine's program to produce long-range "Sapsan" missile systems.

A joint special operation successfully destroyed Ukrainian military-industrial facilities involved in developing operational-tactical missile complexes.

Key details revealed prior to the strike:

▪️Ukraine developed and began producing the long-range "Sapsan" missile system at defense plants in Dnepropetrovsk and Sumy oblasts.

▪️The system, capable of striking deep into Russian territory, was created with financial backing and technical assistance from a Western European nation.

▪️Precise coordinates of buildings involved in the missile program and their associated air defense cover were provided to the Russian military.

Strike Results:

▪️Dnepropetrovsk Oblast: Four Patriot SAM launchers and their supporting US-made AN/MPQ-65 multifunctional radar (used for target acquisition and guidance) were destroyed.

▪️Sumy & Dnepropetrovsk Oblasts: Four facilities slated for missile component production were identified and struck in a concentrated attack.

▪️Zhitomir Oblast: A site belonging to the Pavlodar Chemical Plant, involved in the production process, was hit.

These actions by Russian security agencies and military prevented potential strikes deep inside Russia and eliminated the technical production base for Ukrainian long-range ballistic missiles.

⚡️ Comment by Aide to the President of Russia Yury Ushakov on the upcoming meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump

💬 Preparations for the meeting between the Presidents of Russia and the United States have entered their final stage. Given that the meeting was announced just five days ago, all arrangements are being made under intense pressure. Numerous technical matters, including visa issues, are being resolved. Naturally, the primary focus remains the active development of the political components of the Summit.

I can confirm that the Programme for the Leaders’ meeting has been agreed upon. As you are all well aware, this meeting will take place in Alaska, specifically in Anchorage, with one of the facilities at the Elmendorf-Richardson Joint Military Base serving as the venue.

The proceedings are scheduled to begin tomorrow, August 15, at approximately 11:30 local time with a conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. This discussion will be held in a tête-à-tête format, with interpreters involved. Following this, the negotiations will continue in a delegation format, followed by a working breakfast.

🇷🇺 The list of participants has already been finalised. Given that highly sensitive and critical topics will be discussed, the negotiating Parties have been limited to a select group. On the Russian Side, the delegation will include: Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Aide to the President for Foreign Policy Yury Ushakov, Defence Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, and Special Presidential Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries Kirill Dmitriev. <...>

Upon concluding the negotiations, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will hold a joint news conference to summarise the outcomes of the discussions. Regarding the Summit’s agenda, it is evident to all that the central topic will be the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, including considerations from the discussions held in the Kremlin on August 6 — as you may recall — with the participation of the US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

However, broader issues related to ensuring peace and security, as well as pressing international and regional matters, will also be addressed. An exchange of views on the further development of bilateral cooperation — particularly in the trade and economic spheres — is also expected. It is worth noting that this cooperation holds immense, yet regrettably underutilised, potential.

One additional point of significance: near the military base where negotiations will take place, a memorial cemetery holds the remains of nine Soviet pilots, two military personnel, and two civilians who perished between 1942 and 1945 while ferrying aircraft from the United States to the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease programme. Thus, the meeting will unfold near a site of profound historical importance — one that underscores the wartime brotherhood-in-arms between our nations. This symbolism is particularly resonant in this year, the year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory over Nazi Germany and Militarist Japan.

Colleagues, that is, broadly speaking, what I wished to convey regarding the visit, which — as I mentioned — will commence tomorrow morning local time.
