Homs | Alawite Detainee Dies Under Torture in Jolani’s Prisons, Fears of Mass Atrocities Grow

Adnan Kassab Qasim, an Alawite man from a prominent medical family in Homs, has died under torture in a prison run by Al-Julani’s forces. He was arrested earlier this year during sectarian raids on Alawite neighborhoods.

Despite his family sending food and clothes for months, they only recently learned he was killed shortly after his arrest—his death concealed by jailers who falsely claimed he was alive.

His case adds to a growing number of Alawite detainees reportedly tortured or executed in secret. Families say thousands remain imprisoned without trial, communication, or charges.
