Rep. Riley Moore (R-WV) joined Shannon Bream for “Fox News Sunday” to discuss the violent persecution of Christians in the country of Nigeria.
The African nation is one of the most dangerous places on Earth to profess the Christian faith as many are being murdered by Islamic militant groups.
“Let’s bring in Congressman Riley Moore. One of the first lawmakers to bring this to national attention,” Bream said.
“Can you tell us anything about how you will investigate and what options you may give to the President, or what plans he should have for handling this?” she asked.
“We’ve already started that investigation, and it’s the House Appropriations Committee and we are working with the other relevant stakeholders in Congress, including the House Foreign Affairs Committee,” Moore replied.
“We are in constant coordination and communication on this issue but we are going to get to the bottom of this,” Moore said.
“The map that you just showed really highlights the tragedy that’s going on there. How horrific this is, these killings of these Christians, our brothers and sisters in Christ,” Moore explained.
“President Trump has stated, we’re going to stop this.”
Bream read a statement from Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in which he denies the reality of the situation.
“He said the picture we are getting here is not accurate,” Bream commented on the statement.
“Unfortunately, that is completely false. I mean there are states in Nigeria that have blasphemy laws, people who are facing the death penalty right now for blasphemy against Islam,” Moore said.
“There is a person currently right now who is held in prison for defending himself from attack from a Muslim militant.”
He continued, “He defended himself and he is facing the death penalty. So, no, there is serious persecution happening in Nigeria.”
Bream cited a New York Times article stating that Muslims are being attacked and killed as well, while those stories are receiving less attention.
Rep Moore explained that Christians are targeted way more than any other group in that country.
“There are Muslims that are being killed here, but the deaths that we have been able to garner from the facts on the ground, it’s five to one. Five to one Christians versus other minorities,” Moore said.
“What can the US do quickly, what should we do? Do we have a role in something that seems to be an internal dispute in a different, sovereign country?” Bream asked.
“I think we absolutely do. Look, we are a Christian nation and a nation that believes in values and virtues of standing up for people who are being persecuted. That designation the President just did, a country of particular concern, unlocks 15 different levers that the President can use against that country. Sanctions being one of them, withholding development dollars,” Moore added.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson held a press conference at City Hall on Friday to promote his revised budget proposal, a plan that reflects the same pattern that has defined his administration from the beginning: higher taxes, confused priorities, and no serious strategy to address the city’s long-term decline.
Johnson framed the budget as a major step toward “protecting working people,” but the substance of the proposal demonstrates the opposite.
Chicago now faces structural financial pressures, persistent public safety challenges, and declining business confidence, none of which are meaningfully addressed in the plan presented.
https://youtu.be/nTlkCze9a7w
The proposal includes a revived corporate head tax, new business surcharges, an expanded sweep of the TIF surplus, and additional long-term borrowing.
Johnson presented these measures as essential for fairness and “equity,” but the plan reflects an administration unwilling to impose discipline on spending or confront the cost drivers that continue to destabilize the city.
Chicago’s police department remains understaffed, 911 response times remain slow, and retail closures continue across major commercial corridors due to theft and security concerns.
The repeated claim that the budget represents an unprecedented investment in community safety overlooks the foundation of public safety: a stable, fully staffed police force with adequate resources to respond to violent crime.
Johnson highlighted an $18 million settlement with DoorDash as evidence that his administration is holding corporations accountable.
But the announcement had no connection to the broader fiscal challenges facing Chicago.
The settlement is not a structural solution. It reflects the administration’s tendency to pursue litigation against businesses rather than address the conditions that have driven employers and residents out of the city.
Since 2020, Illinois has lost more than 340,000 residents, with many of these losses occurring in Chicago, according to census data.
Major employers, including Boeing, Tyson Foods, and Citadel, have relocated operations in response to high taxes, regulatory burdens, and instability.
Instead of attracting new investment, the mayor repeated the same argument he has used throughout the budget process: either impose new taxes on corporations or place the burden on “working people.”
This false choice overlooks the primary reason businesses leave: they no longer view Chicago as a predictable or safe environment.
No city has ever reversed economic decline by raising taxes on employers while crime remains elevated and public safety resources are stretched thin.

After years when no one cared about almost half a million children tossed about the country under uncertain supervision, the Trump administration is taking action.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has launched a partnership with state and local law enforcement to determine the status of 450,000 unaccompanied children who crossed the border during the Biden administration, according to a Department of Homeland Security news release.
The UAC Safety Verification Initiative will conduct welfare checks “to protect vulnerable children from sexual abuse and exploitation through collaboration with… law enforcement partners,” the release said.
“The Biden administration’s open border policies empowered human and sex traffickers,” the release added.
“The Trump administration is taking a sledgehammer to human trafficking rings and ensuring these children who were smuggled across the border are not being abused,” the Department of Homeland Security continued.
Assistant Department of Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said that “Secretary Noem is leading efforts to rescue and stop the exploitation of the 450,000 unaccompanied children the Biden administration lost or placed with unvetted sponsors.”
“Many of the children who came across the border unaccompanied were allowed to be placed with sponsors who were smugglers and sex traffickers,” she said.
“The Trump administration has located more than 24,400 of these children in-person, in the United States, through visits and door knocks,” McLaughlin continued.
“We’ve jumpstarted our efforts to rescue children who were victims of sex and labor trafficking by working with our state and local law enforcement partners to locate these children. President Trump and Secretary Noem are laser-focused on protecting children and will continue to work with federal, state, and local law enforcement to reunite children with their families,” she said.
The new effort to protect children began Monday in Florida.
The release noted that in 12 states — Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas — sponsors of unaccompanied children have been arrested.
Sponsors have been charged with various types of assault, rape, domestic violence, attempted murder, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.
In August, Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa noted that thousands of unaccompanied children were placed in unvetted homes under the Biden administration.
“My oversight continues to expose disturbing evidence that the Biden-Harris administration turned a blind eye to tens of thousands of kids who needed proper supervision and care,” he remarked.
“It’s appalling to prioritize speed and optics over the safety and wellbeing of children,” Grassley said.
“I appreciate the Trump administration’s efforts to undo the damage caused by the last administration’s failed border policies, and I’ll continue my oversight of the issue to ensure abuse like this never happens again,” he added.

New information has emerged in the ongoing feud between President Trump and his erstwhile ally, Marjorie Taylor Greene (Sellout-GA), courtesy of Scott Jennings.
Trump announced on Friday evening that he was withdrawing his support and endorsement of MTG. He said he was tired of MTG complaining, despite his record achievements for the country, and went on to say the attacks began after he sent her a poll stating she should not run for Senator or Governor.
MTG delivered a stinging reply to Trump following his withdrawal of support hours later, while revealing what she believed had really triggered his action: The Epstein Files.
She then completed her break from Trump by groveling to the very leftist enemies who tried to destroy both her political career and life for years, while alleging Trump was “egging on” violence against her.
During CNN’s “State of the Union” today, Jennings dropped a juicy tidbit that MTG conveniently left out: he revealed that the poll Trump shared with her showed her losing to Democrat Senator Jon Ossoff by a whopping 20 points.
This marks the first time such dire information has been reported in the poll. No wonder MTG is so bitter.
Just imagine the consequences for Georgia Republicans had MTG run and won the GOP Senate primary.
JENNINGS: Based on what I know and heard, he didn’t tell her not to run. What she didn’t say was that he sent her a poll privately, discreetly, and it had information in it.
And it showed her down 20 points to Sen. Jon Ossoff.
And so in politics, when you want to send a message to someone that you like or that has been an ally, you don’t embarrass them publicly. You privately send them information and show them what the reality is.
And so I think it’s true that he didn’t tell her not to run, but it’s also true that he did her a big favor, which is to show her information that a candidacy statewide in Georgia for her would have been a disaster
Trump not only saved the GOP from a surefire disaster in Georgia but also revealed MTG for being nothing more than a political sellout.
When will politicians learn that trying to humiliate Trump in an effort to enhance their own political prospects never ends well?

While Turning Point USA activists, led by Posobiec and Benny Johnson, were distributing the now-iconic shirts to fight fans lined up outside the UFC 322 venue, Posobiec stepped in to help a man who suddenly collapsed from an apparent overdose.
The night began with the activists handing out the shirts in less than an hour and flooding the deep blue city with a healthy dose of patriotism in honor of the organization’s recently assassinated founder, Charlie Kirk.
Video from the scene shows thousands of UFC fans eagerly grabbing the shirts, many of whom immediately put them on and joined spontaneous “Charlie! Charlie!” chants.
“The entire TPUSA team couldn’t keep Freedom shirts on hand,” Posobiec posted. “We gave out 3000 in one hour in the heart of NYC. Freedom doesn’t quit. Freedom fights.”
Posobiec’s wife, Tanya, captured the frenzy on video, showing volunteers scrambling to keep up with demand as fans swarmed the tables.
Mario Nawfal highlighted the scale of the operation, writing, “Thousands of fans heading into Madison Square Garden for UFC didn’t just get fights, they got Freedom… MSG hosted UFC inside, but outside, it looked like a populist rally with octagon-level hype.”
Posobiec later recounted the giveaway on Fox News, explaining how the rapid distribution stunned even the organizers and turned the UFC crowd into a visible show of support for TPUSA’s message.
While handing out the shirts, Posobiec may have also helped save a life.
As he was distributing shirts on the MSG steps, a young man Posobiec had just been speaking with suddenly collapsed from an apparent overdose.
Without hesitation, the Navy veteran and Human Events host sprang into action, carrying the man to safety, checking his pulse, and staying with him until NYPD and EMS arrived.
