We frequently get confused with the Australian Human Rights Commission. However, we are not the same. The AHRC is an independent statutory body established by the Australian Parliament. HRAA (us) are an independent advocacy organisation that has no affiliation with the Australian Parliament. ​

The AHRC are independent third parties which investigates complaints about discrimination and human rights breaches. It does not act as an advocate or legal representative for a party to a complaint.
