On September 26-27, Genoa hosted the second "International Coordination of Dockworkers" meeting to halt military escalation and block arms shipments to countries at war. “We refuse to load, unload, or facilitate weapons transit,” the dockworkers declared. The group plans to set a strike date that could paralyze major Mediterranean ports. Their immediate focus is stopping the genocide in Palestine, but their broader aim is to resist all arms routes and port militarization, turning ports and logistics hubs into “ports of peace” that prioritize workers’ rights and safety.
In a joint statement, the dockworkers rejected being “cogs in the war machine” and condemned the diversion of public funds to rearmament, noting, “They privatize ports, slash wages, cut health and education to funnel 850 billion euros into the war industry.” The challenge now is translating these commitments into action, especially in countries where “political” strikes are prohibited.

Yesterday evening Genoa dockers, like their colleagues in Marseilles, refused to load a ZIM cargo ship bound for Israel. Three large demonstrations against the genocide of Palestinians were also held in the city on the same day. A protest presidium was called by the Genoa Port Workers’ Collective (CALP) which is part of the International Coordination of Dockworkers. The logistics sector once again proves to be crucial in the resistance against the Zionist entity. @LauraRuHK

🇵🇸 Ahead of a UNGA council in New York, Britain, Canada and Australia seemed to form a united front against Donald Trump when they ploughed ahead with their formal acceptance of Palestine having its own state.
In the case of Britain, many would argue that it was about time and should have been decades ago as the Balfour Declaration which laid the foundations of Israel as a state didn’t show much reverence towards the ‘locals’. Even in recent years it should and could have been acknowledged by Britain when, in 2014, France’s PM made an informal statement towards accepting Palestine’s own sovereignty.
The gesture by Canada, Australia and the UK is aimed largely at two camps, but in reality isn’t going to make any real impact.
