🌟 Dildora is an Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program alumna who is passionate about sharing alumni experiences and contributing to the development of her community. As a RAR, she is dedicated to strengthening connections among U.S. exchange alumni in Jizzakh and creating opportunities for collaboration, learning, and growth.

On August 30, 24 alumni and English educators gathered at School #3 in Termez for an inspiring workshop on entrepreneurship and professional development, organized by Regional Alumni Representative Zulfiqor Djumaev.
The event focused on practical ways for educators to start their own businesses, such as establishing language centers, and on navigating opportunities through U.S. Government–funded exchange programs. Alumni led a session on successfully completing exchange program applications, sharing valuable tips with participants. An ESN Mentor and C5+O.N.E Ed Program participant introduced the concept of constructive reflection, offering useful strategies for professional growth. In addition, an alumnus and Principal of School #3 shared his experience with writing strong grant proposals, providing educators with actionable skills to bring their ideas to life.
The workshop offered participants both practical knowledge and the chance to network, exchange experiences, and gain confidence to pursue both entrepreneurial and academic opportunities.

On August 24, the Bukhara alumni community gathered for a Grant Writing and Proposal Development Workshop, organized by Regional Alumni Representative Kristina Mailova. The event brought together motivated alumni eager to strengthen their skills in developing impactful, fundable project proposals.
Led by expert trainers Ikramova Billura and Dildora Ashurova, both alumni of the English Speaking Nation Program, the workshop covered proposal structure, donor expectations, and common mistakes, illustrated with real-world examples. Through interactive presentations and Q&A, participants gained practical tools to transform their ideas into strong project proposals.
Through interactive presentations and Q&A, alumni left inspired and better prepared to seek funding for their community initiatives, reinforcing their role as changemakers in Bukhara.

New Cohort, New Opportunities: C5+O.N.E. Cohort 5 Classes Start This September
This month, the C5+O.N.E. (Opening Networks through English) Program launched Cohort 5, “English for the Economy.”
700+ government and business leaders, non-profit professionals, and media representatives from across Central Asia began their English studies, joining the 800+-strong alumni network. Over the next nine months, participants will strengthen their language skills, build cross-border networks, and prepare collaborate with peers across the region and the United States through specially designed English coursework and professional development activities. Program alumni are already seeing real impact – earning promotions, presenting in English at international conferences, and forming new partnerships that cross national boundaries.
The launch of Cohort 5 reaffirms C5+O.N.E.’s commitment to building skills, promoting regional cooperation, and expanding opportunities for shared U.S.–Central Asia growth and prosperity.
On August 23, the Inspire to Impact: Khorezm Alumni Forum on Leadership and Entrepreneurship was held at the Green Library of Mamun University, organized by Regional Alumni Representative Feruza Masharipova. The forum gathered high school students, teachers, and U.S. Government exchange program alumni for an engaging day of learning and inspiration.
Keynote speakers included Dr. Inna Rudenko (FLEX & IVLP Alumna), who shared her leadership journey, Dr. Feruza Masharipova (TEA, JFDP & Fulbright Alumna), who presented U.S. exchange opportunities, and Dr. Elbek Sardorovich (FLEX Alumnus), who spoke on entrepreneurship and startups. Alumni also contributed with their success stories and advice.
Through interactive activities and discussions, the event highlighted leadership, innovation, and community engagement, inspiring students and offering teachers new perspectives while building lasting connections in Khorezm’s academic and professional community.

On August 22, the InspireED: Personal and Professional Growth Opportunities for English Teachers in Fergana event was successfully held at the LEA Education Center, organized by the Regional Alumni Representative in collaboration with Fulbright Teaching Excellence Achievement and Faculty Enrichment Program alumni.
The 4-hour program, brought together local secondary school English teachers to exchange ideas, share inspiring stories, and explore professional growth opportunities. Participants engaged in sessions featuring alumni stories from the Fulbright TEA Program, practical guidance on applying for U.S.-funded exchange programs, and interactive Q&A discussions with experienced educators.
The event created a vibrant networking space where passionate English teachers could connect, learn from one another, and be inspired to continue their professional journeys.

On September 21, 40 YPIP alumni came together for an engaging quarterly alumni meetup and training session led by Dr. Alisher Faizullaev.
Through interactive games and discussions, Dr. Faizullaev guided participants in strengthening their strategic thinking skills and exploring effective approaches to both cooperation and competition. Alumni gained valuable insights into critical thinking, joint decision-making, trust-building, and strategic negotiations.
The meetup provided an inspiring space for alumni to exchange experiences, learn from one another, and strengthen their professional and personal connections. 🤝
ℹ️ Dr. Alisher Faizullaev is a 2012 Fulbright Visiting Scholar alumnus, former Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom, the European Union, and NATO, and an internationally recognized scholar in diplomacy, negotiation, and political psychology. He currently teaches at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy as well as at Webster University in Tashkent.
