A nationwide health alert has been issued for 10 states—Arizona, California, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, and Washington—due to a multistate outbreak of infant botulism linked to specific lots of ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula.

The outbreak involves 13 infants across 10 states, with two cases each reported in California, Illinois, and Texas.
All infants, aged 16 to 157 days, were hospitalized and received BabyBIG® treatment.
The FDA and CDC are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the source of contamination and whether other products are affected.
The recalled formula was sold online and at major retailers nationwide.
