The FDA is moving to restrict natural desiccated thyroid (NDT) medications, a lifeline for millions with hypothyroidism. On August 6, 2025 the FDA sent a letter to all manufacturers, importers and distributors of marketed unapproved animal-derived thyroid medications, also known as desiccated thyroid extract (DTE), which includes Armour Thyroid, NP Thyroid, Nature-Thyroid, and Natural Thyroid to notify them they (the FDA) intend to take action against all of the manufacturers, importers and distributors of DTEs.

Doctors will have the next 12 months to transition their patients to an FDA-approved synthetic thyroid hormone replacement medication such as Synthroid and Levothyroxine. Running my functional medicine telehealth center for over 15 years, I see firsthand how NDT transforms lives for patients worldwide. This is a critical tool in our toolbox, helping those who don’t respond to synthetic options. My husband and I did. We signed up for Phil's Silver. It was about $135.00 a month each for 2 silver coins. They made it sound like you get all these perks for the additional after the coins were paid for. That's the big lie. We're in our late 60s and we couldn't figure out how to access the perks we were promised. So by the time we knew it was a scam we had probably lost at least 2500.00. I called 7K metals but they played very dumb and didn't do anything to help. Im curious what will happen to that company ? Their just as much at fault. I know there are plenty others that lost way more than us.
