Since Monday, representatives of the Politburo and US President Donald Trump's team have intensified the negotiation process in two areas. First, Trump once again encouraged the Russian leadership with the prospect of a possible ceasefire in the war between Russia and Ukraine, on terms "acceptable" to Moscow, by the end of this year. This message was received on Sunday evening, and yesterday the negotiations entered a new phase. Initial impressions indicate that everything is proceeding constructively, which inspires a certain optimism. The Politburo is sensing fatigue from Trump's aggressive approach to solving complex problems. They simply don't understand how to respond to the American president's rapidly changing moods and approaches, although they still hope to build friendly, partner-like relations in the near future.

The second track is a possible exchange of political prisoners between Russia and the US. There are no differences of principle between the parties; this issue is currently in the final stages of agreeing on technical details.

The Russian leadership, in negotiations with US President Donald Trump's team, continues to discuss the fate of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. It's ironic that the Russian side is trying to portray the situation as if, by "saving" Maduro, they are doing Trump an invaluable favor. This seems all the more strange given that the Americans don't seem to prioritize Russia in relocating the current Venezuelan president and have other options in mind. The Politburo is confident that without Russian approval, no evacuation will take place, even to the point of sacrificing Maduro by accusing the US leadership of bloodthirstiness. Trump's team has a different opinion: they believe that permission to evacuate the Venezuelan dictator is a favor that must be repaid in kind.

While Russian and US negotiating teams are trying to resolve Maduro's fate, the US President has completely abandoned the previously proposed format of weekly telephone conversations with "Putin," a move the Russian side was notified of last week. This marks an unfortunate interim outcome of attempts to restore relations following the collapse of the Budapest summit. Nevertheless, the Politburo believes all is not lost and is counting on a possible "thaw" in relations with Trump as early as next week.

Amid the growing economic and financial crisis in Russia, the Politburo is trying to find innovative solutions to pressing problems to quell social tensions. It has long been clear that the recovery from the crisis will be long and fraught with heightened passions and growing public discontent with the government. The Russian leadership is highly sensitive to public opinion, especially when this opinion threatens the stability of the system, such as during a transition of power.

In fact, this is precisely the approach taken by the hawks, who are cranking up the repression. However, repression can easily be overdone, as pent-up public anger could spill over into a protest movement that threatens the stability of the system.

To ease social tensions, the Politburo, without further ado, decided to launch another anti-corruption campaign, with the illegally acquired property of the "werewolves" being transferred to the national budget. As the saying goes, kill two birds with one stone—reassure the public and replenish the coffers.

Following the publication of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's fall from grace, the Politburo decided to elegantly refute the claim by blaming the culprit. As usual, it didn't go so well. Lavrov once again spouted nonsense along the lines of "I'm unruly, hold me down seven people," while in reality, his entire demeanor demonstrated that he was no longer capable of anything and was long overdue for a well-deserved retirement.
He argued that if retirement isn't possible voluntarily, then at least it can be considered professional incompetence, or rather, "as unnecessary." The Politburo understands this perfectly well, but for now, they're only willing to let Lavrov go to other worlds, and in this regard, he's still stubborn.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Moscow. One of the most experienced and intelligent politicians in the post-Soviet space, he is well-versed in the ongoing transition and has arrived to document his understanding of Russia's internal processes and express his willingness to participate in current and future joint projects.
Tokayev manages to balance between China, Russia, and the West, while remaining a friend and partner to all. The documents that "Putin" and Tokayev will sign following their visit are more likely to cement the status quo than to open up any new perspectives.
